When the pandemic began, I threw myself headfirst into my art as form of therapy and a way to deal with what was going on in the world. I wanted to find a way to be expressive and really
push my creativity. That’s when I discovered fluid art. The medium itself seemed fun to play with and I was creating some interesting looks but wanted to evolve. Through exploration I taught myself to control the medium better and discovered new ways to create unique pieces. I love the outdoors and I am fortunate that I have been able to hike around this beautiful country and I use my photography and experiences as inspiration for my paintings. All of my paintings are original and I custom stretch and frame them myself using locally sourced lumber. I incorporate a fluid method of painting called Acrylic Pouring; to each piece, using the technique to bring life to my landscapes. I add oils to specific colors to allow the different densities of paints to float above heavier pigments which create cells and bubbles in the painting. I build up paintings in multiple layers which give my work a glossy and textured finish. This unpredictable fluid technique creates unique patterns, making each piece a one of a kind. |
