Come join the team at Matilda Swanson Galleries!
We are expanding our team at Matilda Art Swanson Galleries and searching for a new addition to help manage our new Collingwood location. The gallery is a creative atmosphere that invites new and innovative ideas to enrich the local community and build a business. Our other location is in Stratford and opens up another opportunity for exploring art culture in Ontario. We surround ourselves with positive, happy, and fun art which may not be for everyone, but we hope it's for you!
What we are looking for
Do you want to work in a fun, creative environment surrounded by colour and art by over 50 different artists? Do you enjoy speaking about art with people and encouraging a love for art? Are you looking for a space to have fun, learn new skills, and create something new? Then this job may be right for you!
Summary of Functions
Work in the Collingwood gallery during open hours, ensure the gallery is tidy, organized and sell art while receiving a commission. Assist in hosting and creation of events, along with occasional team building activities in Stratford. You are a creative person who enjoys taking initiative and wants to apply innovative ideas to engage with the community.

Eligibility Requirements
- High School level education
- 3-5 Years of customer service at least
- 1 Year of management experience is an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets, Word/Google Docs, Powerpoint/Google Slides
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to apply background knowledge and interests while learning new skills
Summary of Major tasks
- Assist customers and manage the gallery during business hours
- Manage workshops, events, and seminars
- Organize refreshments for events
- Arrange local experts and industry leaders for seminars and workshops
- Contract bands and other live entertainment for events
- Oversee and manage space scheduling
