Barbara’s unique textural colourful paintings depict the natural rural surroundings where Barbara lives. The natural environment of the Beaver Valley drew her and her husband to Grey County over 20 years ago. She paints in the studio and it’s filled with paint and primed canvas and boards ready to go. It’s often a mess.
Barbara paints in oils on birch panel or canvas in her studio from her own photographs. Interesting lighting and shadows capture her interest while she is driving in the area. She has been known to pull over to take photographs of a cloud formation or evening shadows or light which is visible for a very short time. |
